Paul Ryan: Medicare Killer

Paul Ryan, who has always planned to privatize and gut Medicare, now says Donald Trump is on board. You can hear Ryan say he's already talking about it with Trump this Fox News interview.

He says overhauling Medicare is more of a priority than social security (which he says he has not discussed with Trump.)

If Republicans in Congress attempt to gut Medicare, there will be riots instead of protests. Starving Grandma is acceptable to no one.

the "anti-establishment", seems to have been captured by the establishment Republicans. Trump may add or subtract a little something if he can focus long enough, but Ryan and McConnell will capitalize on his ignorance of policy and legislation. Medicare conversion to coupons is a Ryan dream.  Medicare has all the value to Trump as a bargaining chip in deal-making.

in a number of places, including my neighborhood, there are already "riots instead of protests," & these riots are being staged against the disliked outcome of an uncontested election ("Not my president!") rather than against anything that would actually be legally & politically contestable, such as radical changes to Medicare

in the circumstances, as a matter of rhetorical responsibility, you need to ratchet up the phrase "riots instead of protests" to account for whatever can top a riot

I don't think they are going to get better either unless Donald apologizes, puts the emboldened KKK down, ends his misogyny and sexism. Because I don't believe he's emotionally capable of any of that I accept we're screwed.

Instead of attacking Donald's personality and behavior she should have attacked, point by point, his platform, especially the economics.  There were plenty of one liners for her to use.  EG "You want to pay 40% more for Asian goods you buy at Walmart", get a teeny tax cut while the top 1% in income take 47% of it and want Miami under water?  Then Vote Trump".  Who needs more coal when we are producing so much more natural gas?  Where was the "It's the (future) economy, stupid" in this campaign?  I'm afraid constantly reminding the voters about Alicia Mercado didn't go over very well, even in Kansas.

Maybe or maybe not, Comey had an effect but that is only because it was so close in the states that usually vote Democratic.

the media absolutely refused to cover policy and as far as I could tell the public was not clamoring for it. If elections were decided mainly on policy the modern day GOP would probably not exist.

Trumps boorish, bullying, bigoted rhetoric and behavior was always the center of gravity of this  since this whole ugly mess began. With the gleeful enabling of the media it became black hole from which no mere policy position could possibly escape.

The FBI did not throw the election.
Face facts, your candidate was woefully unprepared for the 2008 election, losing all the caucus states, and learned nothing from it.
in 2016, it is common knowledge that there is a Electoral College, that should not have surprised her or her campaign. They did not plan or campaign properly, or took some states and votes for granted.

Perhaps a lesson learned for both parties, no matter how much someone thinks they are owed a nomination, if there is a ongoing federal investigation into their actions, you do not give them the nomination, you let the enthusiastic base legitimately choose the candidate.

But is there any real doubt that if Comey never sent his letter, Hillary would have won?  In other words, but for the Comey letter, Hillary wins.  As it was, she almost overcome the Comey letter.

And, it looks like Hillary will have a clear win in the popular vote of about 2 points.  Or 2 million votes.  There are more of us than of you.  Keep that in mind.

Agents from Tucson, Arizona, and San Diego will be temporarily reassigned to the Rio Grande Valley, and agents working another portion of the Texas border will join them, U.S. Customs and Border Protection said in a statement.

Trump is not a Republican!  He has no ideology.
He has been a Democrat from the 1980's on, for the most part. He has donated to both parties ,and willfully admits it was to have access granted and favors produced.
He is a negotiator, a businessman.
Some of his campaign promises he will be held to, but most of them, if he has to , he will negotiate them away in order to get something down.

No, he has not been a Democrat from the 1980's on. In the 1980's he was a Republican. He was a Republican until George W. Bush IIRC. Then he was a Dem until 2008 and since 2008 he has been a Republican. So the majority of the time he has been a Republican. Pretending otherwise is dishonest and apparently you think the GOP is so stupid they would elect a Democrat as their own party nominee.

Trump's problem is that his voters think he's going to deliver big time.

Of course now you're excusing lying all the while you were attempting to smear Hillary.
